Happy New Year!

September signifies the start of new beginnings and after playing like a grasshopper over the summer I look forward to returning back to my classes and schedule in the fall.

I am so grateful and feel so blessed to be able to share this wonderful practice and look forward to reconnecting with my wonderful students and the “routine”.

Most of my home regular ...

Yoga for Cerebral Palsy

Posted by:

I found this an interesting article on the benefits of yoga as a practice for those with cerebral palsy.  I like the fact that it emphasizes adaptive yoga, chair yoga and highlights the benefits of mindfulness and meditation. I’d also like to add that it was written by Alex Diaz-Granados. who is a Miami-based freelance writer who has had cerebral palsy since he was an infant.

Any body can really do yoga….blog taken from https://www.cerebralpalsyguidance.com/cerebral-palsy/treatment/yoga/

Feel what you Feel…

Posted by:

I got triggered recently by something a peer and friend posted on her Facebook wall, She is someone whom I admire, respect and who, is in a position of authority.

“Anxiety and Depression are not the feelings – they are the lids that we put over our soup of feelings…because we are afraid of them…In the soup of emotions there can be anger, rage, frustration, but also joy, bliss, excitement….

If we “stuff it”, put a “nice smile”, ...

Stop, and take the time….

Posted by:

Time, like life, is incredibly short. As I get older, I realize how short life is and how in an instant, everything that you hold dear can change.  Life is too short for girevances and annoyances.

Every year in December, around my birthday and Christmas, I get a call from my Mom. She asks me if I’ll like the gift ...

Nevermind Resolutions, 2016 I am grateful….

img_25872016: A Year in Review….

2016 was certainly a very challenging year for many of my friends and family. Compared to many, I had a pretty good year. There was just a feeling of some areas being stalled or in inertia. It was also a sad year as we had to put our Odin down after 19.5 years.

Rather than setting resolutions ...

Why do you Practice Yoga?

Whatever reason brings you to the mat is ultimately a good reason, whether it be a bad back, to relieve stress, to increase flexibility, to get away from the kids, or even if you go just to check out the hot chicks in their lulu’s in the studio.  It doesn’t really matter what brings you to the mat, as long as you can be honest about it.

The best thing about yoga is that it meets where ...

What you Resist, Persists…..

Let Go Letting water over rocksGo – Yoga is about self-acceptance, not self-improvement.

Have been contemplating lately about the concept of “letting go” – it seems on the surface so very simple, and in some ways, it may be, but really what are really letting go of?

I have been doing work over the past four years with the Inner ...

Welcoming Fall

Posted by:

IMG_1392I’ve had a really great summer.

First there was the nine-day Inner Journey Facilitation Training in Gore, VA.  It was intense to say the least, but so useful.  I learned a lot about where patterning behaviours come from, how to be truly present for someone in need, the Chinese Five Elements and so much more.  To be truthful, I think I am ...

Summertime.

IMG_1392Summertime. A shift in priorities & perspectives.

Generally, I love/need routine and order in my life (I don’t even like messy hair on me) – but also enjoy a break from it.

Still happily teaching my classes at Adi Shesha Yoga Zone and some corporate/privates, but taking some time to make family/friends a little more important.

Feeling nervous about 9 days Inner Journey ...
